I know I am fit enough to finish a marathon. I have dreams of Boston. Is there anyone out there who would like to try and qualify with me? I am setting to qualify in MTC in october. I need a time of 3:40:00 and have 6 months to do it. I trained 6 months for the first one and was able(if not injured) to finish. My time would have been FANTASTIC had I not gotten banged up. I was set for a 5:39:00 thon...not bad for a first!! NOW all bets are off. Im throwing my chips in and going for BOSTON GOLD. Its gonna take dedication mentally and physically. But as they say if u want it you can get it. WHO WANTS BOSTON IN 2011????

I want to too! I have been injured so I haven't ran in the last 2 weeks but once I am better I'm training hard... It would be my second marathon too, I'm not sure if my body is going to let me do it, I run fast but I seemed to get injured easily (too many years of vball) but I want to run a fall marathon too as long as I can get this injury figured out so I can start running again, I had a good base of 12 miles or so, I ran 15... cause I was planning on running one at the end of june but then I got hurt so I obviously won't be making june lol... but yes lets do this!

I do not mean to burst ANYONE"S "parade" ..but realistically ...first time - shoot for a 1/2 marathon. (unless you have already ran a few marathons - I sincerely apologize if that is the case) I started running and put in 6 months of some heavy duty trainign to run my first 1/2 ...about 4 years ago. As with MFP - stcik with a good training plan - slow & steady. Boston is a great venue to shoot for , but I have very elite rnner friends who hav eyet to make in to Boston. You go ( girls) ..run and run stron . get a 1/2 under your feet and then talk about a whole maarthon...all 26.2 miles!! One foot in front of the other is a great plan.....0

Wow...I am super impressed with your goal! I'm running Baltimore in October (it will be my first) and my goal is simply to cross the finish line without assistance. If all goes well, I'm hoping to finish around 5 hours.
Making Boston is definitely on my bucket list, though. Good luck and keep us posted!0 -
I think deep down, every runner's dream is to run Boston. Just like every climbers dream is to summit Everest and every diver's dream is to dive the Andrea Doria. I too want to qualify for Boston. I will be running my first marathon in October as well. Wouldn't that be awesome to qualify and in my first marathon? Don't worry, I am not setting myself up for failure. I will be happy no matter what i run it in. My dilemma is finding someone to run my long runs with me...0

I'm just waiting to get into an age group with lower qualifying time. Currently, my race pace is around 11 min/mile...there is no way I am going to knock off 4 minutes per mile in 5 months without some major puking and passing out involved.
I'm on the 15 year plan. Though, hopefully it won't take that long.
Obviously, this depends on what happens in October.0 -

I think your going to surprise yourself Shuntae! Maybe not kick off 4 min per mile but you will run your best 26.2 on that day trust me!
