So, I have been doing really well with my eating and losing weight at a good pace. I've lost about 5 lbs and have toned up a great deal. However, I didn't eat dinner last night because I just wasn't hungry and today I haven't eaten very well. I had a small breakfast burritto for breakfast (not the best choice, but I was so hungry), for lunch I had some baked chips and a turkey sandwich with mustard on 45 cal wheat bread, sooo not going too terribly until after lunch...I teach school and I gave little bite size pieces of candy to my students as rewards...well, I had about 7 bite size kit kats!!! UGH! I am doing a weight loss comepetition at school and I have been in first place!!! Weigh in is tomorrow and I am afraid I have blown it today!!! Should I eat dinner tonight or not? I am still so hungry today!!! I want something GOOD, not diety stuff!!! UGH!

Have some lean protein for dinner... skinless chicken breast, turkey or even salmon.

Pair that with some fresh veggies and a small serving of carbs.

Or what I will do sometimes is have chicken, cheese and an apple for dinner. 4 ounces of chicken is relatively low in calories and very filling.

And 1 day is not going to blow your whole weight loss. Drink lots of water and just get back on track.

This is exactly why I don't like weight loss competitions.

Losing weight isn't about cramming down a bunch of "healthy" bland food down your throat and watching the clock until your next meal.

And what **** is wrong with a breakfast burrito?

Carbs? Good. Fats? Good. Protein? Good.

Maybe you went a little overboard on the candies but as long as you log accurately and stay in a calorie deficit you'll weight.

Stop shaming delicious foods and stop thinking of this in the short term.

This is about a lifestyle change. Eat candy. Eat pizza. JUst do it in moderation.

One day doesn't make or break your weight loss either.

    Go ahead and have supper.
Pro tip. If you allow yourself some chocolate or candy once in a while, you won't eat 7 of them at once anymore.

    This.

If you feel guilty about a breakfast burrito (which I make all the time if I'm not too lazy), you're probably depriving yourself too much and you will binge.

Seriously look at my diary. I eat a lot of 'junk', pizza, chocolate, ice cream... my weight loss has slowed down after the initial loss but I still lost 6lbs in the last month.
  • If my goal was only 1200 cals, I'd blow it every single day too. Eat dinner, lean protein and tons of veggies and get back on track. Also, eat more.

I'm really confused about this post. At what point are you going to tell us what you did that made you think you "blew it." So far, all I've read about was some regular food and a few pieces of small candy.

ETA: You have a goal of 1200 calories for the day and you have 640 left at the time of this posting...uhhh...yeah, eat dinner. You haven't even begun to blow anything except for fueling your body...if you stay with 560 cals for the day if you don't have to, then yeah, you blew it.
  • With chocolate, I buy big huge blocks of Callebaut that you have to use a screwdriver to chip chunks off of. It's a really good, rich, dark and satisfying chocolate, and it's a total pain to chip hunks off. Other chocolate tastes like junk to me compared to the Callebaut, and just one hunk (maybe 1oz?) is plenty, plus it's such a production to break another off, it gives me time to change my mind. I'll have a hunk 1-2 times a week and don't feel like I'm missing out.

I felt like I blew it because of eating too many chocolates! Plus, I didn't work out today because I have had a horrible cold for two weeks and have kept pushing it and I am now so exhausted. I allow myself to eat foods I enjoy, but I normally don't eat several pieces of chocolate! Oh well! It's one day! I had a hamburger for dinner! It was delish! It wasn't huge one and it had lots of veggies! Lean meat of course too! Need to log that now! Thanks for the suggestions!

So last night you didn't eat dinner and it caused you to go all off track today, but you still think it might be a good idea to not eat dinner tonight? Nooooo..... doing the same behavior and expecting different results is crazy. Learn from yesterday. Eat a sensible dinner tonight.

Oh I saw you posted and did had dinner - good job! :flowerforyou:
