So...
Zumba is not a regular cardiovascular exercise option. In the past I used "dancing, general," but I find it hard to believe that 60 minutes of Zumba would only burn around 400 calories.
What do you guys use for this one?

Anyone who uses a HRM and weighs in or around the 200-220-lb. range, what have you burned doing Zumba?
Thanks!

I have just come back from my zumba class. I currently weigh 139 lbs and my zumba class lasted one hour. I used my HRM and burnt 478 calories. I was amazed at the burn rate. I have done two zumba DVD's at home and burnt just under 400 in 45 mins (again according to my polar HRM).
Hope this helps?0 -
I use the Aerobics High impact on MFP to add in Zumba. I believe this is a pretty accurate calorie count. I also downloaded the calories burned calculator and it has high, medium and low intensity zumba options and you also add in your weight. I'm around 220 and it says I burn about 900 cal/ hour. So i figure anywhere in between those two numbers0
