Help! I need a more "structured" workout plan....

I started my fitness journey a few months back and everything has been going really well. I eat right, exercise, and the pounds have literally just melted off. However, I am wanting to burn more BF and build WAY more muscle. My back, arms, and glutes don't seem to be an issue.. they are becoming nicely sculpted but my legs and abs and chest could use a little help. It was brought to my attention by a friend on here that I probably need more structure to my workouts.

I typically do whatever I feel like doing. I alternate muscle groups or just do them all in one day. I get in at least 3-4 times of cardio a week, sometimes I run 7-8 miles, other times I walk on incline on the treadmill at different intervals for 35 minutes. I don't think I need help with cardio... just my weight/muscle training.

Could any of you suggest a regime for me? I workout A LOT at home. So bodyweights, kettle bells, and dumbbells are my main source.... but I DO go to the gym twice a week. I am a single mom so I have to fit in my workout schedule around my son. Twice a week at the actual gym is all I can manage. I mostly just need some structure!

could you meet with a trainer one or both days when you go to the gym? They could show you different workouts to tone the areas you aren't seeing results with. Trainers can be pricey though so maybe look up some workouts that focus on those areas and do the at home in addition to what you are already doing.
Abs are hard to see unless you are at a certain mbi so maybe cut back your calories a little bit and try a workout program like insanity or turbofire? Those are both very structured.
  • I am not a fan of trainers. I get hounded by them at the gym constantly. I am getting results just at a slow pace. I look great, but I am aiming for more of a fitness model physique. I just need a structure workout plan on paper.. something I can follow on my own.

Why don't you try a DVD set like Insanity or Chalean Extreme? I need structure and I don't like the gym, much prefer home and I have loved those programs. P90X and others too!!
