I just came off P90X a few weeks ago.....and don't get me wrong, I see wonderful results! My problem being, 90% of the time I stayed under my caloric goal with a very balanced diet, however I enjoy my wine and beer. I included it in my journal, and never used alcohol in excess.
I've read where some of you don't have an issue with consuming alcohol and losing weight, but I didn't lose the pounds I wanted, even though I lost many inches and toned up nicely.
This next round of P90X, I'm going to sustain from alcohol......I'm wondering if it's my cultprit? Anyone else have this problem??

It's worth a shot of trying it without.0

When I was serious into low carb, I lost weight much more quickly when I wasn't drinking, despite logging.0

My partner and I were regular, basically daily drinkers. Two weeks ago he got sick, and we decided, as part of his lifestyle change to give up alcohol. Since then, with no other changes (I was already eating well and counting calories) I've lost a whopping 4 kg/9lbs. Crazy!!
I admit I've also been stressed, and that sometimes makes it hard to go over my calorie goal, but I'm not under eating and I've also not exercised in the last two weeks, as we have been so busy with him sick, specialist appointments, and just me caring for him, so the booze is the only logical culprit!0 -
I personally haven't had any issues losing while drinking alcohol. That said, I've had conversations with others in RE to lowering my BF% even more (around 10% would be optimal but I'd take 15%) and the consensus seems to be that it'll be pretty hard to achieve that if I continue to regularly consume alcohol.0

The beer might get you a bit bloated but certainly the wine is good for you in reasonable amounts. There's absolutely no need to give it up at all as long as you're not using it to get drunk. Working on a little bit of a buzz is a favorite pass time of mine and with wine being the nectar of the Gods, who am I to question it's wonders?0

:drinker: :drinker: I loved to drink, but gave it up since Nov 2012. Only had a beer or glass of wine during holidays and special occasions. Since my birthday in March I started to drink a glass of wine or a beer every couple of days. I noticed i stopped losing weight even though i go to the gym almost everyday. I wasn't gaining, but not losing either. try to go without it as much as possible. I put a shot of wine on a glass of seltzer water to trick myself when others are drinking0

I had to mostly cut it out to lose too. Now I have a "not in my house" rule so I don't drink at home just for the hell of it at night like I did a few years ago but only when I go with friends or out with hubby. Don't want to be a total snoozefest.
Haha
(Once you give it up, your tolerance goes away so all you need is one anyways. LOL!)0
