Do any of you ever get salt cravings? If so, what do you do?

    pretzels work well for, and they're low in fat!
  • Try Olives. I dont get cravings, but theyre very salty even after jusr 2 or 3

    yep, salt is my nemesis. There are ways. I found that sunflower seeds work best. Nice and salty, they keep your mouth nice and busy (de-seeding them), and they have lots of monounsaturated fats (omega 3 fatty acids, the good kind), plus although the calories sound high, 1 cup seeded is only about 1/5 cup unseeded so it's a lot less then people think.

    kroger brand or mt olive brand sugar free bread and butter pickles or bbq pork rinds

    Yes, pickles are a great salt food. I read somewhere that eating a pickle is like licking the salt shaker! LOL!

    My name is Dianne and I am a salt-o-holic :laugh:

    If you "google" salt cravings, you will find that there is a connection with Adrenal Insufficiency which in my case "fits" because of hypothyroidism...the fact that I take Levothyroxin to make up the lack of proper thyroid hormones doesn't curb those cravings.

    When I crave salt I have a few pickles. Works for me.
