MFP member meet up

So, I was watching a commercial with Jennifer Hudson talking about weight watchers and the thought occurred to me. Why doesn't MFP have group meetings? I think it's a great idea. Finding people in your area and meet up at like a park or coffee house once a week or something, go over each others progress. Having an online friend is one thing, you can look at a picture and read the text, but a face to face conversation with people struggling to re-take their lives would be a lot more motivating to me. MFP doesn't have to sponsor it and you don't have to buy anything. No big events, just want to meet at the park for an hour or two, go over progress and stories, and see ya next week and bring spouses and kids if you like since that's usually the biggest support group and reason to get healthy.

I personally love the idea. I live in the Loma Linda/ San Berardino CA area if anyone around me is interested.

There are some nude beaches across the border not too far from here. I nominate them for a meet up location.

Oh hush, Penny Lane. I certainly didn't mean you. Can't be so sure about that Dirty character though. ;)

    I snowboard. I don't go as much as I'd like, maybe 5 or 6 times a season.

Ah, cool cool. I suppose you're alright then. Haven't met a snowboarder I haven't liked.

I considered that! But it looked like a lift in the background.

It kind of does. It's just goggles and my scarf over my nose and mouth. It was pretty cold that day.

Yeah, I find the Topic Titles to be lacking a substantial explination for nature of the thread. You need to work on that ; )

Well I read it. But I've never been a huge fan of meetings. I actually dreaded them while on WW. Furthermore, I'm no where near you in terms of location.

    On topic:
I don't think my wife would like me meeting up with the ladies over coffee, and I don't want to meet up with any dudes.

Plus, I like the anonymity of online forums.

    Example A: my picture.
