Like a competitive game of Tennis, or a fully competitive game of football or Rugby. A proper, long, bike ride.
It's possible if you're doing an endurance-type activity/sport for long enough. Whether regular people are burning this much on the elliptical in one session is dubious. But if they're doing elliptical in the AM, walking the dog for an hour or two and then doing a body pump class in the pm.... well, that probably adds up........
Most people probably grossly overestimate the burn they get from an activity.0
