Any runners with Osgood as a teen?

I'm starting week 4 of Zombies 5k today. The first 2 weeks went great. But then in week 3, I started in with a great deal of knee pain. It is fine while I'm running and during other workouts, it's the recovery time, the rest of the day it KILLS me in my left knee. It's not actually my KNEE but an area to the bottom and right of my kneecap and it's tender to the touch as if it is bruised. I have good shoes and I don't over- or under-pronate, so all I can think is that it has to be from the Osgood I had as a kid. I still have the lumps under my knee caps, and my knees are deft a weak spot for me. I can't do kneeling in workouts, I can't go as deep into lunges and squats as I'd like.

I have ordered a Meullers knee strap to protect and apply stabilization and pressure to the patella. It's designed for jumpers knee and Osgood, so I'm hoping that will help. After my runs I come home and apply Tiger Palm, and elevate while I lay on the couch with Netflix for a few hours.

My last run, I was doing great then halfway through it started in and really confused me because it didn't hurt while I was jogging, only while I was walking. Wednesday I Tiger Balmed it when I got home, relaxed and Thursday it was fine, so hopefully I will be able to get through my c25k's til my knee strap comes.

Anyone who has went through this have any advice? And yes, if the knee strap doesn't help me, I will be going in to my PCP to get a referral to whatever kinda doc I need to figure out what's going on. I really REALLY want to run, I enjoy it and it's bad enough that weather here is crazy and now I have to have more hold ups due to my knee /sigh
