If I want to plan out my weekend of foods, will it save even if I don't complete the day of logging?

I do this w/ Weight Watchers but hoping to add this site as another neat tool to keep me on track.

Say for example if I sat down on Sunday night and planned out my breakfasts for the week. Can I do that easily on this site?

I just joined today so it's still very new to me!

Thanks

Absolutely, you can! I think it's really smart to do that. Welcome to MFP!

I agree with PJilly, it can be soooo helpful to just go to your food diary and already know what you'll have for the next meal, next day etc.

Some even plan their meals for the week and some cook for the week on Sundays so they don't have to cook each night after work but only pull out something from the freezer.

    MFP is great that way!

I try to plan 2 weeks out at a time. As Jillian Michaels has said: If you fail to plan, you pretty much plan to fail.
Planning out can really help you stay accountable. One less thing to worry about if you already know what you're eating that day :)

Trish: I love that quote from Jillian! I am a HUGE Biggest Loser Fan!

I have been struggling (emotionally and physically..been about the same weight for 2 yrs). I am an emotional eater! I hate it. When I get stressed out w/ the kids (9 yr old boy, 4 yr old B/G twins) I tend to snack! Sometimes I can catch it, sometimes not!

That has been my biggest struggle lately and when I am sooooo tired at the end of the day (I just don't want to sit down and track my food...but it's the best time for me to do it b/c it's quiet time (I also run a home daycare).

Thanks for the answers here! I think I will like these boards better than the WW boards! I will still use my daily tracker there too! I love it and I can also do that one on my phone!

Yes, you can plan your food intake ahead of time. I do this all the time via my iPhone, and I actually plan ahead as much as 3 days and it is saved in the system. I hope this helps you and I wish you all the best. Continue using this site as it is great and I have already lost 20 lbs since January 1, 2010.

Even though I still love and will use my WW tracker, I am hoping this site will add a new fresh twist to my plan!

I am trying to "start over" in my head b/c I think it has a lot to do w/ it! I have managed to keep 35 lbs off but I am up 15 lbs the past 2 yrs! ;-( I hate the feeling!

Yes, I do that too - I sometimes will enter my breakfast and lunch the night before.

Welcome to MFP - you will absolutely love it. I think the site is addicting.

I log even if I've been bad, it's all about accountability. :flowerforyou:

In fact, I have done better this past 2 weeks than the 1st month I joined. I started 3/1/10.

You MUST log in everyday and enter your food and exercise.

It's amazing how big the food database is -- I never have a problem finding a particular food to log.

    Good Luck!!
