Rice krispy chicken

Hey guys,

I've been told a recipe that is rice crispy chicken see link - http://www.itv.com/lorraine/stylebeauty/little-black-dress-diet/rice-krispie-chicken/

Apparently is a low fat answer to fried chicken! Nom Nom Nom.

I'm going to try it tonight so fingers crossed!

Do any of you guys have any treat alternatives? But healthy?

I haven't heard about using rice crispy cereal for it. I have previously used Special K. Makes a great buffalo chicken finger without frying it.

I haven't checked the link but the key to baking "fried" chicken and getting it super crispy all over is to put it on a cookie rack (those silver racks you cool cookies on) which is on a baking sheet. Makes it crispy on the bottom as opposed to wet and gooey.

It sounds weird but I"ve used oven baked fries with low sodium gravy and cottage cheese as a much lower cal poutine!

My healthy treat alternative is kale or spinach chips. I love chips and could eat a whole bag if I had them. Now I make kale and spinach chips. Super yummY!

I usually prefer to go with the real thing rather than an imitation. The Rice Krispie chicken is much higher in calories and carbs than the traditional version, and only slightly lower in fat. It is far easier to clean up after, though.

DD likes to dip chicken tenders in FF Ranch dressing and then panko crumbs, and cook them on a rack. It works great and adds a lot of flavor.
