To double check the date you use here in regards to nutritional info. For instance, I have been cooking homemade pinto beans for weeks and using the numbers found in the database here for my food diary. I was under the impression that 1 cup of cooked beans was 245 calories. Well today I actually read the package and here is what I found; 1/4 cup of dried pintos=60 calories. 2 cups dried pintos=6 cups cooked, therefore 1/4 cup dried=3/4 cup cooked, and 1 cup of cooked pintos=80 calories. That is 165 calories less than what I had been accounting for! Sheesh!
Well at least it's a positive finding, instead of finding out it was 165 calories MORE...
