I had to stop eating them as I had to give up all Soy products when I found out about my thyroid issues...........

Just make sure you rinse them......A LOT. They come with a smell that is....different.

I'm not really a picky eater but just could not eat these. The texture was far too rubbery for me and the smell slightly nauseating despite my constant rinsing.

The smell goes away if you cook them in sauce as they absorb the taste of whatever sauce you use.

I thought femented soy was ok? My endo told me to limit it, but tofu was ok on occasion. He doen't want me to overcompensate for meat with soy. I don't, but I haven't given it up completely. I have tofu a few times per month. This would count in that. It hasn't affected my hormones, so I'm thankful for that. I wouldn't add it into my diet anymore than it already is, just because I'm comfortable where I am and don't wanna push it.

I limit it anyway because of breast cancer in my family and I really do not like tofu, lol. (But I do like it soaked in bbq sauce and grilled real crispy in the summertime.) Just rarely.

They are a little chewy but I find that the spaghetti and angle hair versions to be a little less so.
Also you don’t really need recipes , I make my own concoctions all the time. Like Salsa, laughing cow cheese, and chicken breast, or whatever low cal meat I have on hand. I have used a dry pesto mix with just water and meat. All sorts of random stuff just play with it.

My endo told me that limited soy was alright too. I had to wait at least 4 hours after I took my meds before I had any soy but since I take my meds in the morning it isn't really an issue. I have these in my cabinet but haven't tried them yet. Guess I will give them a go soon.

Ah, thanks. These particular ones say just Tofu, yam flour, water, and calcium hydroxide in the ingredients. I just got the spaghetti ones, as that was all they had. I'll have to check the other ones out. My daughter loves angel hair pasta, but with the wheat allergy its hard to find a replacement. The brown rice noodles are ok, but I find that they don't cook evenly. I limit her soy too, much more than mine because of her age. If you know of any other types, please let me know. We want to try everything and see what we like best.

These are good, but expensive. I'd like to be able to offer her a good hearty pasta dish at least once per week because I can hide all kinds of good stuff in the sauce. Shes getting better with her pickiness, but not always. We are nursing some disordered eating patterns sadly, so I try not to be pushy but I am sneaky. Thankfully after the allergy diagnosis, she saw a nutritionist and has been more open and understanding. Still a little resistant, but far less than ever before.
