Workout/Running Shoes?

Hey y’all,

I’ve never been big on athletic shoes in general (I typically wear a size 10 and feel like my feet look even bigger in these kinds of shoes), but I’m now looking to invest in a good pair I can use for working out (jogging/running outside, other basic cardio etc.). I would especially like something that will provide good support for my knees (I had knee surgery when I was 15) and last me a while.

I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg, but I’m okay with splurging some if you guys can vouch for a quality pair of shoes. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Fit is the only thing that matters, so the "right shoe" is going to be different for different people. Kinda like finding the perfect jeans. Go try on a zillion pairs, or even better go to a running store and get fitted.

Yep, try on, try on, try on. The only reason I've not gone to a running store to get fitted is because I am cheap, but would feel incredibly guilty asking a clerk to spend time assessing my stride and gait and fitting me only to leave without making a purchase to find them cheaper on the internet! A friend of mine who's been working in shoe stores his entire adult life, got me into my first pair of Brooks, and I bought a different model the next time, but I love them. My husband loves New Balance and orders all of his (pretty much the same model every time) off of joesnewbalanceoutlet.com. I got my last pair of Brooks off their website at a discount because they are not the latest incarnation of that particular shoe.

I went to DSW and found a great pair of running shoes on sale. They've got a great selection for running shoes, IMO (at least the one near me does haha)
