Half Way There

Am I allowed to post a success story when I haven't actually reached my goal yet?
Because I realized today (my flower moved over enough for me to see!) that I'm halfway to my goal!
It only took a year and a bit to get 42lbs off (ONLY - because I haven't been as stringent and careful as some, I think this is a pretty fantastic rate of loss considering how often I let myself have maintain weeks instead of lose weeks. Heh). I'm pretty darn excited at the realization that I could be at my goal in a year if I keep doing what I'm doing!
While I was running yesterday we went past a building with lots of windows and in the windows I saw my reflection and for the first time in a VERY long time I thought: Hey... I look pretty darn good (even if my sports bra gives me a uni-boob :blushing: ).
Later, on the same run, some boys were whistling and shouting out their window at me as they drove past (although they might have been yelling obscenities, I like to imagine they were checking me out).
Admittedly it makes me a wee bit angry that I have to be 'smaller' to be noticed (outrage for my lovely large ladies!) but oh well. Such is the nature of things.
I'm pretty happy with how things have progressed.
Thank you MFP. I'll be back sharing the rest of my success when the weight is all gone. And maybe I'll even post some pictures, EEK!
I'm a little shy for that yet though.
Have a great day guys! Stick with it! If I can do this you really, REALLY can. Trust me.

Congratulations! 42 pounds is a BIG deal. And losing it with a realistic approach is going to help you keep it off.0

Congratulations,
Bad news - the last 10 do not come off nearly as easy as the first 10. The easy pounds are gone.
Good news - You look great, you feel great. Nobody can tell you're still working on it, they just see a li'l hottie.
Don't sweat the uni-boob, that's what sports bras do. 's Ok.0 -

Oh no worries. I sweat IN the uni-boob not over it... ?
I'm not worried at all! The last 10 can take their sweet time as far as I'm concerned. I'm definitely a person who has settled into this lifestyle and is content taking my time. Which is why the first 42 took so long! Hahahaha. If I get sick of calorie counting I eat maintenance calories for a few weeks - it sounds crazy but it has kept me from 'falling off the wagon'. So to speak.
And thanks guys.0 -
You can post any kind of success story!!!! We like them all!! And that's great! I'm almost halfway myself and it's a great feeling!! Just remember - and I forget this myself - that the less you have to lose, once you're closer to the end, it's going to take a little bit longer than you might like. It sounds like you've got a realistic timeline so that's great!! Good job so far and keep it up!0
