Water retension with medications

Hey Fitness pals,
I'm hoping someone may have a suggestion. I've been put on new medications for ulcers/angry gallbladder and they are making me retain water like no tomorrow (been on them 3 weeks up 10 lbs and you can push on my skin and leave the pitted edemas). My Dr. has recommended diuretics but I'm wondering if anyone else has suggestions for natural solutions- exercise or food. I do try to avoid high salt foods I don't use any when cooking but I have tried eliminating bacon and other "breakfast" meat that has higher salt.

Thanks in advance!!

Water with lemon or lime can help flush out water retention. Some people think drinking more water will make them retain more but really you need to drink plenty of water to help flush it out. Make sure it's OK with your doc though to drink lemon/lime in your water though b/c it's pretty acidic. Green tea can also help.
