I just started with my fitness pal and like how it can track all my foods. I use the online version and the droid app. My questiion is, is there some part of the app I done see that will allow me to scan a upc code on a food item and have it added to my log?

You may have already found it, but yes, there is!
After you hit add to diary from the homescreen, and then choose which meal you want to add to, there should be a search box at the top of your screen. Just to the right of the search box is a magnifying glass button. Just to the right of that is a blue button with what looks like a barcode with a line going through it. When you press that blue button, the app will use your phone's camera. Line up the barcode you want to scan in the box in the middle of the screen. The red line will turn green once it can actually read the barcode. You might have to move your phone around to get the barcode into focus before it'll read it.0
