I use the app MapMyRun when I work out, but I also recently started using a GPS watch for days I don't want to carry my phone. Today I took both. And since I input the cal burned into myfitnesspal, I usually rely on the result for my app. I assumed the GPS would be the same. I have all my person info, height, weight input the same. There was a 200 cal difference! Mapmyrun said 761 cal and my GPS said 501. I went with with app because that's what I usually do.
I walked 8.5km in 1h and 20 minutes at an average pace of 9 min/km. Does this sound right? Should I use a median number? Why can't things be the same!? LOL
