What is up with fiber?

I keep going over my fiber? I thought our bodies needed lots and it was good for us. I manage to generally stay or under everything else. I don't take any extra fiber like benefiber or anything. Although, I do have a problem with constipation from time to time, the extra fiber actually helps to keep me regulated. All of my goal's are set by MFP based on information I gave. I haven't altered anything. Should I? Or do I really need to be watching my fiber intake? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :P

If you are going by the number that MFP automatically puts in there, it's below the recommended value. It should be at least 25 grams. So you may not be really going over, but making the recommended value.
You can change your daily amount by going to goals---> change goals---> custom.
I peeked at your food diary and it's only set at 15. It really should be 25. I don't know why MFP doesn't have it automatically at 25g.0 -
Thank you so much... I was wondering about that...0

Fiber is really good for you! Besides making you feel full longer, it also moves things along in your digestive tract. BUT if you don't generally eat a lot of fiber, it's better to work up to the 25 grams as you don't want to have problems in the bathroom.0

Remember too that if you're increasing your fibre, you'll need to up your water intake too to help prevent constipation0

First off, how do you get your fiber to show on your main food diary page? I haven't figured that out yet. I have to run a report on fiber to see mine.
Second, fiber i very good for you so I wouldn't worry about it. 6 weeks ago I changed my diet abruptly (didn't have a choice since my kitchen was taken out in a renovation) and found myself literally running to the bathroom 7-8 times a day. But now my body has asjusted and all is well. But my fiber intake is higher than yours so I doubt you'd have as much of an issue as I had. Today's number was 30ish but that's low for my new diet...yesterday was in the 60's. Usually I'm in the mid 40's and with no ill effects. Just definitely drink a lot of water.0 -
