Anyone ever eat Groundhog??

Just wondering. Interested in recipes and possible calorie count. NOT a popular item I know. We recently moved to a stricter budget, and was considering picking up some free meat from the back yard :)

    well killing and eating them sounds better than kiling them and letting some other creature eat them. They are a nuisance and dangerous (in terms of tearing up the yard and leaving holes that people can trip in). Destructive, nasty, pests. If they are palatable, I say why not. it's a Win WIN :) not as tasty as BACON - but maybe WRAPPED in bacon...hmmm
