the generic "how often do you weigh" revisited

When i was in 9th grade i became obsessed with weighing myself, i started starving myself just to see a smaller number on the scale. fortunately i was bright enough to recognize i had a problem, from that point on i stopped weighing, i decided if it was that unhealthy i didn't need to know how much i weighed. that worked until i was 21ish (when i started blowing up) even when i went to the doctor i would tell them i didn't want to know what i weighed. i've been around the crash diet block a few times, and finally decided to weigh myself when i heard about a certain lcd that shall remain nameless. i was disgusted to know i weighed 167...it doesn't sound like a lot, but im 5 foot flat, and that weight looks different on different people! anyways! while on various crash diets i weighed myself continuously...and they worked how they do, the scale goes down while youre on the diet, and right back up the moment you quit! when i finally got serious with MFP and got my head out of my butt, i had to stop weighing myself everyday...the healthy way to lose weight wasn't fast enough, and i'd get discouraged and give up! But after becoming a little more mature about my health, i'm able to weigh myself daily again, i realize that slow and steady wins the race...it's not necessary but i'm ok with it! anyways, the whole debate on how often to weigh yourself..i've been on all sides, i understand all sides, and it just depends on how you feel, what works for you! If youre healthy and don't need to way yourself to be happy yay! if you need to keep yourself on track, but everyday may be discouraging...weekly or monthly + may be for you! and if you have the discipline and will, everyday isn't such a bad idea, it's about a healthy relationship with the scale, knowing that it doesn't show the whole story of your body! sorry to ramble on, i was excited to realize my relationship to the scale is in a healthy spot, and thought id share :) good luck and great job to all of you!

I only weigh myself to do body fat %, or when I'm trying to get into a specific weight class. Otherwise the scale gathers dust
