What is your fuel before exercise?

For those of you who work-out, is there anything you swear by that enhances your workout and gives you energy to go that much longer?

Nice cup of strong coffee before my runs, i call it rocket fuel. Most energy drinks, gels contain caffeine.:happy:0

I use vitamin b3 (niacin) and it has increadable effect on my training days.
I flush red, the veins bulge with blood, it makes you drink more and the pump i get from training can last four or five hours and the feeling of well being is an absolute bonus...
wouldnt train without it !
you burn more cals as you get hotter !
I should add niacin is used in many expensive pre training performance products but is only £4 for 100 x 100mg tablets ..
Not for the feint hearted !!!
( i also use "fruitflow" for cardiovascular health , smoothing blood platelets , but thats more of a health thing although their are obvious benefits to a healthy cardiovascular system while training to failure )0 -

A toasted slice of Ezekial bread with almond butter and lots of water.
I try to bring a snack along for after my workout too: thinly sliced apple, greek yogurt with some blueberries.....
and lots of water.0 -
I also drink coffee before my workouts. Gives me a great boost.0

for my runs I have a piece of whole grain toast with peanut butter, Its fat protein and carbs and its not enough to bounce around in my stomach0

Coffee and 1/2 a banana, I use the other half to make a protein shake after my workout.0

This is a valid answer. When I'm changing from my regular clothes into my gym clothes in the locker room I spend a few minutes flexing in the mirror in my undies. Part of the reason I do this is to make sure all of my muscles look balanced but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't also 'mirin myself. It's even better if other people are around :laugh:0 -
