New to MFP and lovin' it

My name is Jan and I started this plan on Monday (4-15) tax day! I was told about this site by friends from church who are also doing it and I am so happy to find out about it. I am still navigating my way around but for the most part it is pretty easy. I am on my 6th day of tracking and so far so good! I had joined WW last year and lost 30 lbs. but then gained it all back when I stopped going. I was always hungry on their plan and felt like I could not live life. I like MFP so much better. I feel like I can eat whatever I want as long as I watch my portions and track it. So I am feeling much better about this and I have lost 4 lbs. so far and could not be happier. I know that is a lot to lose in a short time but I know it will slow down to as we always seem to lose more the first few weeks. I am working on getting that 30 lbs. off plus about 70 more but just taking it one day at a time. I am already feeling healthier.

    I tried Weight Watchers (online), and I think the reason it didn't work for me is because none of the food I eat was ever on their data base. I had to manually add all the food nutritional info, and it got to be such a hassle. I can easily find all the food on MFP, and even if I don't, it's not too hard to add it. Also, the support system was not even close to what is available on MFP. Not to mention this site is FREE, and I had to pay almost $20/month for WW.

    You will be fine. We just have to all stick together, and make sure we don't let each other quit!
