Been doing some squats..holy crap those suck!! It's easy and effective when I raise my desk to standing. Might pick up some weights and just keep them here.

In April it will be 20 years dispatching for me, all with the same law enforcement agency. We are on 12 hour shifts as well. The food is hard with the restrictions on what we are allowed to eat in the center, and for the most part we are very limited.

I try to do my little "challenges" at the console when I can, like today, (have to make up for missing yesterday) I have 35 pushups, 100 mountain climbers, 100 triceps dips & 50 squat jumps to do. The only things I'll be able to squeeze in during low radio times would be the push ups. Everything else I'll do around my run after work. I've done planks, Russian twists, crunches, squats, knee raises, butt kicks and even lunges at my console.

Where there is a will there is a way! And...as dispatchers, we rock!!!

I was a 911 EMD a loooooong time ago (over 15 years), but then transitioned to the box. Did that for a long time then went to nursing school, became a Trauma Program Manager and found myself managing a communications center for a air-medical service. So once again I got to dispatch, but this time helicopters!

A stand-up desk is on my wish list. May have to go guy it myself.

We spend a lot of time helping others. Remember to help yourself (not to another doughnut) but to a healthy lifestyle also.

Police/Fire/EMS dispatcher reporting in. I work nights and my partner and I were able to do the 30 day squat, ab and arm challenge. We do have a foot pedal deal but it's not that successful with rolling chairs lol Hardest part is everyone leaving "bad" food in dispatch. Must. Not. Eat....

Not a dispatcher, I'm a medic. Thanks for being our lifeline!

Not a dispatcher as we aren't allowed to by law where I am but answer calls for emergency services...But, we've had those desks for YEARS. You guys are behind in the times
