Need help GAINING Weight

Okay so I know that I'm probably on the other side of the spectrum from you guys but I'm hoping some of you can help me out. I've been looking for ways to gain weight healthily, not just by the classic "bulking" techniques used by some bodybuilders. I noticed that that method works but usually leaves you fat afterward, but looking much better once you've trimmed the fat. I, however, am looking for ways to steadily gain weight, without sacrificing too much of my body fat percentage. Any ideas?

Eat more, lift more.
Pretty much!0 -
You can do what I'm doing and take in a surplus of calories on your weight days and a deficit on cardio days. I will add you. Go ahead and take a look at my calories and what I eat given days. On weight days I am more leanient on what I ll eat whereas cardio days I eat as perfect as possible!0

Add about 300 calories on top of your maintenance calorie number every day. Use it for complex carbs and protein. That way you'll add mass very slowly, not bulk.0

I don't have any words of advice, but my husband wants me to say that you're not alone. He is almost 40, 5' 9" and 145ish pounds, and has been since college. He actually saw a doctor and a naturopath for the issue. The doctor was no help at all. The naturopath uncovered a gluten sensitivity, but so far nothing has changed. He is the kind of guy who cannot overeat; he adds oil or butter to a lot of his dishes to increase the caloric load without increasing bulk. He has a fast metabolism. Go figure!0

Eat slightly above maintenance, lift like hell, compound movements and when you stall on a consistent basis add a few more calories, repeat.0

Gotta gain weight at a slight caloric surplus and monitor your Bodyfat with Skinfold Calipers.
It's a real hassle and more trouble than it's worth imo, I'd just do a regular Bulk. It will work if you have the determination and patience though0 -
I am in the same boat. I started lifting weights a few moths ago (about 3) I have put on the weight, but need to trim some body fat now. I can't offer much advice but if ya wanna friend to support ya feel free to add. Maybe you can share some insight you've gained
Good luck at any rate0 -

Although I can't say I've ever had that problem, my suggestion would be to simply take in more calories. Perhaps one or two protein shakes a day or something like that. Also, be sure to build muscle as muscle weighs more than fat. You can pack on lovely muscle by lifting weights or body weight training or other forms of resistance training.
But it's a problem for lots of people. I personally think building muscle is the best thing you can do. Remember the old Atlas ads?0 -
That was very helpful. Thank you.0
