What does losing weight feel like?

Is it uncomfortable? I haven't lost much but my belly feels all weird and my chest feels even heavier. I have never lost much and have no idea what to expect.

    Eh?

It doesn't feel like anything. Your clothes start falling off and you weigh less on the scale.

It's like this ongoing burning sensation you can't get rid of. Like someone's attached a furnace to your ribcage and diaphragm or you've eaten a tube of Deep Heat.

How many calories/protein/fat are you getting?

The only time I've had strange stomach feels has been when I wasn't getting enough food.

Really? Are you sure that's not just hunger?

I can't feel anything. Maybe I'm doing it wrong!"

It feels like any other day but you are slightly less bloated.

Perhaps it depends on what you've been doing.

I always think I can "feel" when I'm losing weight.. but it's probably just because i'm eating less so my tummy feels more empty! I always think it's a good sign if you wake up in the morning feeling "lighter" because it means you haven't over eaten the day before!
With regard to your comment about your chest feeling heavier.. hopefully that's nothing to do with your heart. Be careful not to lose muscle mass because then you will actually feel heavier because you have less muscle to carry your body weight. Make sure you eat lots of protein to maintain muscle mass, lose body fat and get fitter - remember the more muscle you have the more calories and fat you will burn!

It feels great! I've got so much more energy and my chronic pain is gone. My constant depression is beginning to lift. Life overall is much better.

It doesn't feel like anything, you're just gradually smaller.

    It feels f***ing awesome!

Collarbones, shoulders, hipbones - I can feel them again. Jowls are gone - hello facial features!!!
    Pants are falling off!
    Muscles are sore and hard!
Fat is melting = belly is flatter & dimply *kitten* is gone!

    Yeah, it feels f***ing awesome!
  • I'm usually too sore to feel anything substantial, but I agree that AFTER you notice the weight loss, the feeling is fantastic (seeing changes in your body, fitting different/smaller clothes, etc). It's a self satisfied, positive emotion!

    Have to agree...

I can feel bones I never knew I had. Hips, ribs, collarbones... apparently I have them :) I never knew that!

Body size is noticeably smaller to everyone - except me! I dont see the changes when i look in the mirror. I still see the old obese me. I guess my head isnt there yet. Put my old jeans on last night just so I could see the difference. They felt like they belonged to someone else.
