Hello, well recently my money has been cut down a lot to where I can only spend 30 pounds a week on food shopping, I need healthy but cheap food.

Could all you bargain hunters out there please could you list your grocery lists!

Okay. I spend about £45 per fortnight, but I only buy for me.

    I get:

    - organic veg box - 7 varieties for £9, the basis of all my meals
    - 2x loaf Vogels oat and wholemeal bread
    - 2x bag bagels
    - 1lb cheddar
    - 270g peanut butter
    - 10x small kiddies apples
    - cheese strings (a pack of 12 lasts me over 2 weeks)
    - tinned beans - cannellini, butterbeans, flageleot
    - red lentils
    - white potatoes if not in my veg box
    - rice cakes
    - organic eggs
    - houmous
    - fromage frais
    - granola bars

and occasionally have to buy things like curry paste, pesto etc. I eat a lot of veggie soups and stews. I get mostly organic so you could cut the cost down there.

I look to the world's peasant foods are delicious, nutritious and cheap:

    * dried lentils and beans, things in the cabbage family, pasta, rice, potatoes, carrots & other root veggies

*meat in small quantities (think curries and stir-fries where they're accompanied by loads of veggies) -- and cheaper cuts cooked long and slow to tenderize
