BMI makes no sense to me

i know its just a guide line but i struggle to understand how a person can be in a very good shape yet still be classed as over weight or unfit by a BMI chart..

It was meant to study average populations, not individuals, so it can be very inaccurate for people with larger frames and an above average amount of muscle mass.0

I think the calculator aims at those who probably have little /no experience to weightlifting/muscle hypertrophy minus the extremes as well eg. Bodybuilders ...
Bit weird because when it comes down to it, the average joes this calculator is targeting is dropping in comparison to those who are the odd ones out which is a lot of us in this era0
