Bodymedia - using it to gauge calories in/out

I've been using a Bodymedia Fit Link for about 1 1/2 weeks. I had been stalled on my weight loss eating the 1200 cals MFP had me consuming, and was freaked about eating back exercise calories. I knew I wasn't eating enough, though. It's been really easy to see my daily calorie deficit using the BMF, and I started eating more calories so that I was relying more on the deficit than a set calorie/day number. I immediately started dropping weight again. An example would be burning 2,500 calories a day, consuming 1,800, with a deficit of 700 calories for that day.
My question is: Have any of you relied on a calorie deficit per day instead of a set calorie intake? Have you found numbers that have been more or less successful for you? Do you notice a greater weight loss keeping your deficit at a steady number but increasing activity and calorie intake (example a 500 day deficit, but eating back almost all calories from lots of activity, both moderate and strenuous)?

The idea is that you have a constant deficit and eat more if you do more. You could save this for later in the week. You should ensure you set it so that you are eating at least your BMI though with not too Hugh a deficit.0
