How long before able to exercise again?

Woke up with swollen shins, in my right leg about a day ago, after I went to the gym to do the elliptical with my shins feeling uncomftoable for a week or two, but I was told I could workout on it instead of running which is my main exercise thing ...so I woke up and it was swollen
Should I wait and stop all exercise or can I still go to the gym and do the Elliptical

If the elliptical aggravated it, I'd say stay off it for a few days. Also it might be worth seeing a doctor.
You have to be careful with these kind of things. I ignored tendonitis in my ankle, wound up slightly favoring one leg while running and messed up my knees as a result. It's best to get ahead of these things early.0
