Hi - My name is Holly and I just started here a few days ago.

I need to lose 50 lbs - BAD.

Let me tell you a few things about me and what had has happened to me in the last 2 years.

I had my youngest son at the age of 41 (it was a HUGE surprise! And I am very blessed as much as I wanted to kill my hubby - he has been forgiven since we have a boy this time!) Anyway - my son is the 3rd and very last child of the 3 we have together. He was a very large baby - born 9 lbs 15 oz 2 weeks early. His father is an ex-NFL lineman - 6'8" and approx 430 lbs so go figure :)

Three months after I had my baby - I lost approx 40lbs and was working on losing another 30 lbs before I was in a serious car accident that resulted 4 bulging discs in my neck and my thoracic area. This was approx. 2 years ago. THEN a year later, I broke my humerus shaft by tripping over the baby gate and slammed into my kitchen island...SO I could not do anything physically for a long time. I have been under the care of pain specialists to resolve the horrible pains from the bulging discs. My arm is doing pretty good so far. And in all these painful times, I put on 20 lbs especially after being put on anti-anxiety/depression medicine back in December due to stress. Now that majority of my pains are under control, I am able to do a little more activity than just doing nothing. Walking and working with my horse. I tried hiking and jogging - hard impact - right now, my neck can't handle it. With my horse, I had only done walking and trotting - I am just starting to canter her - kinda hard but not as bad as downhill hiking or jogging. But she does give me a sweaty workout! Geez! She is an OTTB (off the track thoroughbred) being trained for hunter/jumper - was being trained for eventing but my neck issue hasn't permit that - not yet and I hope soon! She's a pretty strong headed mare to deal with in training.

I have never weighed as much as I am now NOT being pregnant IN MY LIFE and it is very depressing even though I am doing better emotionally handling stress. Just don't like feeling big, especially on my horse and will eventually be in competition with her in the near future :S

Since I am now trying to reduce calories intake by basically reducing my portions quite a bit, I am hoping that this MyFitnessPal will help me through this.

There are a couple of questions I do need to ask but I don't believe they are appropriate for the Self Intro Post...

I sure hope to reach my goal soon so I can do much more with my horse and my kids, especially my little monster!

Thank you,
Holly
