same workout / less calories burn ????

I've been doing the same walk/jog intervals on my treadmill for about 2 weeks (4-5 days a week). Now according to my Polar HRM, the same workout is burning quite a few less calories...
I'm guessing that means I need to step it up a notch during my workout?? Or could my HRM be going bad?

Have you lost weight? Smaller people burn less calories.0

Yeah.. I've lost almost 5 lbs since starting this work out..0

It could be that as you get used to the workout, you have more endurance and so you don't need to work as hard to do the exercises anymore. If you find the workout is becoming easier for you, try increasing the intensity or the duration and see what your HRM says.0

As you lose weight your workout routine (if unchanged) will burn less calories, I've noticed it while doing wii fit aerobics etc. So if you want to burn the same # of calories then you need to add on a few extra minutes.0

Heart rate will decrease for the same workload as your max fitness level increases. It doesn't mean you are burning fewer calories--it just means the HRM doesn't know your fitness level has increased.
In any case, if the workload now feels easier, you should be increasing it.0
