Balancing calories and exercise

I'm an avid exerciser, and although I am trying to lose only a few pounds, I'm not sure how much I should be eating. I am often coming in under my calories allowed for the day, and wonder if that's sabotaging my efforts. Should I be trying to eat the entire number of calories? Seems like I should l try to eat less, as long as it's not too much less. Any ideas?

    hmm maybe up your calories by 100 and see how it goes from there? Also, if you have hit a plateau drink more water and up your protein. I hope this helps.
