Losing weight and being in shape sucks

When I was 254 lbs, I could hit my target heart rate just going up the steps to get to my treadmill. Heck, my resting heart rate was practically in the fat burning range back then. 3.2 mph at 4% incline was my max work out. And my BMR was way higher. And I could float in the pool.

Now I have to run to get to my target heart rate. And since I'm not slogging around 63 extra pounds of fat, I don't burn nearly as many calories / hour. And I sink in the ocean.

Woe is me... Tell me your sob stories so I feel better.

None of my clothes fit anymore. I am too lazy to go buy new ones and am not sure when I'll settle at a good weight (and I do NOT want to buy new clothes more than once) so I just walk around looking frumpy all day.

Ah yes, the never ending baggy clothes. I can look like a bum or pay for new clothes all the time. Truly a terrible situation, indeed. ANd now my shoes don't fit anymore. Whatsup wit dat?

I've noticed the heart rate thing too.. Did the Jillian Micheal's thing, the 30 day shred or whatever (found it on Youtube) thought I would do it to see what all the hulla-baloo was about. Kept looking at my HRM, not in range it says. Pretty much the entire workout. Hpmh.

    ^^^ Yup!

The last time I was this size I was unemployed... so all of my work clothes are either about to fall off or don't quite button.

I work on a flower farm and I used to not have to pick this row of flowers because it was right against the wall of the greenhouse and a really tight squeeze. Now I'm the only person thin enough to fit down there lol

I have only lost a total of around 40 lbs. I don't know exactly because I refused to step on a scale once I was pretty sure I was over um that weight. But, already it's ruining my life. The computer isn't near as fun anymore. Mostly all I did before was play games and surf the web. Now, I am mostly here when I am on the computer, not that this is a bad place, but it isn't Tetris. I feel trapped when I am not outside or when I'm not doing something. And forget looking at food. It makes me ill to look at some of the stuff I used to think was food. I have had to cross off several restaurants as places to eat, just because they no longer appeal to me. I don't care if other people eat there, I just wish I still could. I can put my own socks on now and I can walk faster, it's getting to the point where I think I might run out of excuses to not have to walk the dog and it's really yucky out right now.

My boobs are gone too! And since everything I try on fits me now and looks good, I'm spending a fortune on new clothes, so I'm broke all the time! Sooo sad!! :blushing:

I had to buy all new everything, losing weight is super expensive, even my shoes didn't fit me any more. AND ITS STILL GOING!!!

I need to lose more weight which means I either have to keep looking frumpy and slopping around in huge clothes or I have to buy new ones every couple months.

The losing boobs thing tops them all. Such a shame. I wonder how many tons of breast have been lost on MFP.

    OHHHH, THE HORROR!!!!!!!

Most people go down in shoe size when they lose a significant amount of weight. I get a lot of my "interim" clothes from the Salvation Army Thrift store. Helps out a good cause and I get good quality clothes for a LOT less. They only sell clothes that have been "gently" used. And then I donate back my "too big" clothes.

My clothes stopped fitting. Not only did I have to buy new ones, but they fit better. Many of them are even BRIGHT colors. BRIGHT COLORS! The horror!

michelefrench and other ladies; Do not shave your elsewhere. Have your husband or BF do it. They'll have the time of their lives and be so grateful, they'll make it well worth your while. :)

Well said all of you! Sometimes you just need a good ol' vent. I too realized that prior to my weight loss I used to burn a ton or calories walking around the block and now I need to run 5 miles to burn any lol.

Speaking of shaving: now that I wear shorts on a regular basis (to the gym only, but still) I have to shave my legs! WTF? I was perfectly happy never shaving those babies, but nnnnnoooooooo. Also, I'm in between a 16 and a 14 right now and so either I have the poopy diaper look or the outrageous muffin top look. I can't decide which one is better...

It's things like this that almost make me glad that my sister is severely underweight and gives me clothing (it's baggy on her but fits me like a glove).

I really miss the innocent pleasures of scarfing down nutella before I knew the calories.

Clothes shopping is terrible, malls make me weep for the future of mankind.

Grab a weight vest! Or just carry two 30-pound dumbbells with you everywhere you go! As my wife pointed out this weekend, I've already lost one of my twins plus 10-pounds and those little suckers are heavy to carry up the stairs to bed every night!
