The Insanity Programs (modified for wimps)

Who's using the Insanity workout program and seeing results?

For the summer, I'd like to really get in shape. I've spent the last year and a half shaving off nearly 50 pounds. Currently, I'm at roughly 200lbs at 5'11''. My goal, ultimately, is to get at 165--which means I need to get rid of another 35lbs.

I thought of taking on the Insanity program, but honestly don't know if I'd be able to handle it because I've got a knee that's been messed up since my high school baseball days.

Would there be any way of modifying the workout for similar results? I'm not looking for rock hard abs, but a general loss in stomach fat would be satisfying. I'll also maintain a healthy diet and perhaps walk a couple of miles daily.

Any advice on this would be appreciated!

Post some pictures. If you are 5'11 at 200lbs dropping to 165 might be a bit much.

The great thing about Insanity is that you go at your own pace.

Shaun T and his crew all go at different paces. It is not like some sort of aerobics or dance class where you are all doing the same move on an 8 count. Some moves you will do faster then someone else. That is the way it is supposed to be. Every couple of weeks you do a "fit test". You write down how many of each move/exercise you can do in the allotted time. Then when you take the next one, if you have improved by even one rep...That is improvement.

Something that Shaun T is doing right now that I digg is he is doing his entire workout program, day 1 to 60. He has not done it in a long, long while. He uses his social media and shares his workouts daily. He started a challenge with everyone who wanted to follow the schedule with him. You see even he struggles on some days. I like that because it shows that struggling is ok. It is acceptable.

It can appear intimidating I am sure. Everyone always says they are not fit enough to start it. I say start it ASAP, go at your pace as you are supposed to, and you will see some results rather quickly.

I have a wonderful lady in my accountability group that is going to do Insanity with some modifications we have put together. I can help you as your free coach if you are interested. Just message me from www.facebook.com/teresasimpsonnasser. It can be done with results.

I started Insanity right after I hurt my knee from running. I modified some of the jumping moves because I could not put my full weight on my right knee (if it meant impact). Trust me it is still a difficult workout even with the modifications I had to do. My knee is still not a 100% but it is much better than when I started. I can honestly say after recently completing the program it kicked my butt. I still had to take breaks at the end but I did improve from where I started. I hope that helps.
