Calories burned

Hey, so I worked out that running/walking burn the same amount of calories per mile/KM through copious amounts of google searches. Obviously you'll burn more per hour running/jogging, but if you have the time you can always walk it and burn the same amount of calories. You also don't need that shower afterwards because it's walking.

Anyway, an example for this would be my own weight. I weigh 147lbs and I'd burn 106 calories per mile, or 66 calories per KM. If you gain/lose weight then you have to +/- 0.7 calories per pound of weight/per mile, or +/- 0.4 calories per pound of weight/per KM. Meaning if I gained 10lbs then I'd burn 113 calories per mile, or 70 calories per KM. I used this for a starting source of calories burned running/jogging:

Obviously I'm just putting this here in case anyone wants the information, you don't have to listen to me because I'm just a normal guy that likes my fitness. But I hate running.

I feel you, not a big fan of running. Instead I walk on a very steep (read: steepest setting) on the treadmill as a warm up and I sweat my guts out and get above 170BPM. It feels great!

Walking is a great exercise, but I love Running! I take it as a challenge and enjoy it too much....I started with walking though! Any exercise is better than no exercise...
