Does the way you cook a food change the calorie content? Like... crock pot vs. oven roasting or grilling vs. microwaving??

Other than the addition of oils or ingredients that would add calories, my guess would be the cooking method doesn't change the calorie content. So, the preferred method would be the one that doesn't add fats for cooking!

It can, grilling on something like a BBQ allows fat to drip off instead of sit or stew in it. I'm not sure if it is a significant amount or what amount of a change would be, that being said the biggest thing with cooking is what you cook it in, or put on it, that will change the calories of what you are eating. frying in oil will add more calories than BBQ.

The style of cooking can also affect the nutrient content. For example, steaming veggies is better than boiling them since boiling can leach nutrients out of the food.

Same thing with heat. High heat can destroy healthy fats, like olive oil shouldn't be used at a very high temperature (most unsaturated fats can't handle super high heats, some are better than others. Like canola oil can go to a higher temp than olive).
