I've been inactive on MFP for a while. I came back to re-enter my weight and was momentarily disappointed that I hadn't lost anything. Then I stared at the number (still the lowest I've ever been!) and realized...
I hit balance.
For the first time, when I stopped focusing on what I was eating/exercising, I didn't gain weight. I didn't need to actively monitor my intake every second of every day, because I was in tune with my body and when I ate McDonalds I felt sick and gross and *wanted* to eat a salad and tea to make myself feel better. I got sick, ate simple carbs, and was able to stop when I was well.
I'm still a ways from goal weight and a WAYS a way from goal fitness, but I think I've finally internalized a healthy balance. And just as importantly, I know healthy ways to get towards that goal weight/fitness.
