confused about size of meat and weight

Ok I am a little confused here. Everything says for meat portion go by the palm of your hand and that is about 4oz so that is what I have been doing . But I got a scale yesterday and tried it out today for my turkey burger patty. It was the size of my palm but i weighted it and it only came up to 2.5 oz Do I just have really tiny hands. Or could my scale be wrong. Brand new from amazon.

Weigh it. Eat it. I'd trust the scale before my eyes. Grab something from the fridge which has a weight listed with a light container. Butter, a yogurt pot, anything to calibrate. The packaging doesn't weigh too much. Is it slightly over the listed weight? Your scale is probably fairly close.0
