5X5 or New Rules FW training?

Read a fair bit of the NRFW today and I feel hopeful for the first time since I weighed myself 3 weeks ago. I love the nutrition theory. Makes so much sense. No deprivation. I am now making sure I eat back my exercise calories.

I also went online and read up on 5X5.

So which program should a 54 yr. old woman who is weak and pudgy, (but was fit three yrs. ago) start with and why?
