What is the healthiest milk you can have? I'm guessing something organic and it sounds like a lot of people drink almond milk. I used to drink soy, but lately I've read that it causes a lot of inflammation and is not as good for you as you would think. Anyone??

That depends on what your definition of "healthy" is.
I drink regular old 2% cow's milk.0 -
We get whole milk from a local dairy. It's normal(not ultra) pasteurized and non-homogenized. They have jersey cows so the fat content is higher. That stuff is so dang good!0

They didn't design almonds or soys to be milked.
Full fat cat milk for me. For long lean muscle gains.0 -

Cats have long lean muscle. Ergo their milk must create same in the consumers of it.0 -
Love my unsweetened almond milk, don't like all the sugar in milk even though it is natural.0

I drink regular Skim Milk Works for me. I love cold milk with a meal. I grew up on dairy farm and we always had milk with meals.
It's a habit I like0 -
Breast milk... we're people, we should drink people milk. :laugh:0

Milk can be a nutritious drink. The Mayo Clinic notes that it's a dietary source of protein, calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D. On the downside, it can also be high in sugar and fat. Since both sugar and fat contribute to weight gain, it's best to stick to plain, skim milk if you're trying to lose weight

Unsweetened almond milk 30 cal. Used to drink 2% cows milk but like the almond because of 1/3 the calories.0

Raw Jersey cow milk from local dairy.
Soy and almond 'milks' aren't milks, they're juice.
That being said, the only vegetable 'milk' I can tolerate is coconut 'cream' and 'milk'.0 -
I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I put it in coffee, oatmeal, and I make ice cream out of it. It's yummy and only 30 calories per cup.0

I don't think milk is healthy at all. If you analyze it, cow's milk is breast milk for calf's (calves?), not for people. I just always found something rather gross about drinking a cows breast milk.
But then again, I eat unfertilized chicken embryo's.0 -

Second that. Otherwise, we have 1% milk at home. I crave whole milk once in a while (when I make choco chip cookies).0 -
I have taken the position that if you are going to drink milk drink what you like, personally I drink 2%. I have tried skim milk...ick. I have tried soy vanilla which was pretty good, but at the end of the day I return the the good old cow. Milk whether skim or whole has nutritional benefits with varying levels of fat and calories. Pick the one that you like and works with your plan and enjoy.
As a side note, not knocking almond milk or soy milk just have not had enough experience with either to give an opinion to milk alternatives. They do taste fair, but I could not see pouring either on my cereal in the morning.0 -
Breast milk... we're people, we should drink people milk.
I'll agree with that. Even better if you get it straight from the source.0 -

Big fan of the organic 2% dairy land, but I also substitute with coconut milk. Soy has a number of hormonal complications associated with it for us females.0
