Do you experience this?

When I'm on the eliptical, I've noticed that my toes go numb after about 20 minutes. Is that normal? What am I doing wrong? I keep going for at least another 10 minutes, but the numbness is strange.. I wonder if I'm pressing too hard when I'm walking on the machine?? Any ideas/suggestions??

I don't experience that on the elliptical but have on a stationary bike. I have no idea why it happens, but I do check my circulation after & everything seems 2 b fine.0

So funny that I just came across this post because I just came back from the gym where I spent 33 minutes on the elliptical trainer and my toes definitely went numb. It has happened in the past but not as severe as it happened tonight. I know that it's annoying as hell, but I just keep pushing through. I have no idea what that is from.0

I knew I had read something on here about this awhile back, so I just did a quick search for you. I haven't read much of any of these posts, but maybe they will hold the answer you're looking for! Here are several:

My toes/feet also go numb. I have read in a fitness magazine that it is very normal. The article said to make sure u have proper shoes on and that they are not tied too tight! I personally have noticed the more weight I loose the less they r numb! HTH

I'll check out those links, and will definitely have to make sure my shoes aren't too tight! Thanks y'all! :happy:0

I have had this too! On the eliptical and on certain bikes. Try to make sure your shoe is wide enough for your foot, and not laced too tightly. Also, try to keep your foot more in the center of the foot pad part of the eliptical, if your foot is pushed right up against the end / edge piece, maybe you are squishing your toes a little!0

Just to add on the other suggestions, your feet and hands normally tend to swell while you are exercising and if your shoes are too tight, they may be cutting off circulation. Generally, you want your sneakers to be a half size to full size larger than your foot length to compensate (or go to wider widths). HTH!0
