FitBit Exercise Adjustment Question

First day on Fitbit One! I used my HRM during my workout to calculate my calories burned, and then entered the data in MFP with the correct times. I noticed that the adjustment calculated merely net my calories burned over that time period to the same amount that the FitBit calculated in the first place.
Before I entered exercise calories burned from HRM: FitBit adjustment +300
After I entered HRM data: Calories burned 450, FitBit adjustment -150, for the same net of +300.
This does not seem reasonable, as some of my workout was strength training, which FitBit would not recognize, where my HRM did. I want MFP to recognize the 450 calories burned, not the 300.
I want to leave the "Allow negative adjustments" option on, since I want to get a kick in the pants on lazy days. Have I entered something incorrectly? Or do you think the 300 is the correct amount of exercise calories burned, and my HRM is somehow off?
Thanks.

Check this out - it will help you. I have found that the neg calories adjustment works best when you are able to sync your fitbit throughout the day. I find that by the end of the day my allowed calories are the same between the two devices.
