Wasn't sure if this would go here, or in the chit chat board. But anyways for English class I already did a presentation on Healthy Eating Vs. Dieting and now we have to write a research paper on a topic of our choice. I wanted to something along the same lines but I'm having trouble thinking of ideas. Should I stem off what I did for my presentation or go in a different direction ? Any ideas would be helpful, thanks !

Why not compare the effectiveness of lifestyle change to one or more "fad" diets or other weight loss programs? SHould be plenty of documentation - big problem will be sorting out fact from hype and mythology.

yes, that's basically what i touched upon in my oral presentation I gave, so I might just stem off that and go more into detail with areas. I'm also kind of playing around with maybe writing about eating disorders too. hmmm

Eating disorders would be a great topic. Depending on how long the paper needs to be, you would have different areas to cover ie. explanation of the disorders and history- when was it first recognized (if you can find it- examples in history- think monks living on a slice of bread a day- was their devotion intertwined with what we view as being anorexic?), in the medical community, demographics, a bit of the psychology and info on their treatment and throw in some recovery statistics for good measure. You could get a decent paper out of these aspects.

LOL! Enough procrastinating, I need to get moving on my developmental psych. paper... Happy writing!
