Sleep vs Work-Out

I have read a few articles saying that sleep is just as important in weight loss as is eating right & working out.
There have been a few times over the last couple months where I have been unable to get to sleep at a decent hour, so instead of getting up early & going to the gym, I just take the extra hour to sleep in & just manage my calories a little better for the day so I don't go over.
I'm interested to see what evreyones take on this issue is.

Right or wrong, I also at times opt for sleep as opposed to stressing my body with an early morning wake-up and work-out, if I know I haven't had adequate sleep (say, under 6 hours. I usually do get a solid 8.)
If you're having trouble sleeping, you could try melatonin before bed and/or magnesium. I have a magnesium powder, mix up with a full glass of water (raspberry/lemon - tastes amazing, very tart) and drink before bed. In addition to helping you sleep, also assists with repairing the damage done by stress. I'm sure there are other benefits, I just don't know them:)0 -
No problems getting to sleep, just have meetings or errands that i cant get done in time to get at least 7 hrs of sleep. I am working 12hr days, 6dys/week at the moment, so between travel times & 7-8hrs of sleep. I only have 2-3 hrs/day to get in my exercise routine.0
