I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. Do you weigh your protein before you cook it or after you cook it to figure out the calories?
And do you need to punch in cooked or raw when trying to figure it out on MFP?

The database entry should specify raw or cooked in some fashion. Raw is better.0

Some of the posts in the food database specify raw or cooked, some don't. Generally if you cook a 4oz piece of raw chicken, you'll get a 3oz cooked chickent. We buy in bulk a lot and I always try to save the labels so I can scan them for the calorie/nutrition.info. Sometimes I will weigh the meat raw so I can freeze it in portions, usually a pound each, but I will weight cooked meat when I'm portioning my plate for dinner. Lastly, you can also put a homemade recipe into sparkrecipes.com and it'll give you the nutritional stats.0
