I haven't posted my weight in 4 weeks mainly because I haven't lost any. I have kept my calories around 1200 and even eat my excercise calories. I have been faithfully doing P90X or walking just about every day and nothing, I am 5'9" and weigh 155, I desperately would like to lose 10 pounds and I'm stuck on 8 pounds after 2 months. Is it possible that I have plateaued, any suggestions for getting a jump start?

You probably need to YO-YO everything because it does work for a lot of people (me included)

    What's Yo Yo'ing?

It's really mixing up everything. For your daily calorie intake eat your recommended one day, go 200 or 300 over the next and then go under again. Keep your body guessing about your food intake so it can't store what it thinks is what you'll need.

Then Yo Yo your exercises. Don't do the same things over and over. Try cardio one day, weights the next etc etc. Again the object is to keep your body constantly guessing.

I am sure if you try this it should bump start you again. The only other thing it might be is you're not eating enough and you've gone into starvation mode which would stop the weight loss. If the above doesn't work try eating more to lose more. Sounds crazy but it does work!

You might have to change up your diet or calorie count. If your body has gotten to use to it, then it has pretty much learned to maintain your current weight on what you're doing. I've head of a couple of tricks; you can either splurge for a couple of days on food, which should kick your metabolism up a notch when you return to normal, or you could just change your diet. I've seen both work for people, so it depends entirely on you. Just some ideas for you. Hope you beat your plateau!

From what I've picked up around here, I'd say you're not eating enough. If you're doing p90x faithfully.. you're probably falling extremely short on calories. I'm 5'4 and weigh about 118.. and I'm shooting for 1800 calories.. but 1600 minimum. The nutrition plan and the formula for calorie intake it contains isn't lying to you.. you really do need to fuel your body for workouts like these.

I really have thought that I may need to eat more, but I have been satisfied with my food and I'm afraid that I will kick start my appetite too. Guess I need to do something different, thanks for all the comments.

You are 5'9" and 47 years old, and only need to lose 10 lbs, I can almost guarantee that you shouldn't be at 1200 calories. Assuming you have no medical conditions and that you are lightly active your maintenance calories are about 1950, that means you are set at around a 750 calorie deficit, way too much for someone with 10 lbs to lose IMHO. You should be looking for 1/2 lb per week or so.

This is just my opinion so take it for what it's worth.

I'd suggest eating more. I am 49, 5'6" and 141 pounds. I want to lose 6 more pounds, and I'm doing P90X currently (Week 4). I started out eating between 1,600 and 1,700 calories a day, and I could feel that it wasn't enough. Now I'm eating 1,800, and that feels right for me. P90X isn't a weight-loss program, but you can lose fat and gain lean if you do it right, but you HAVE to fuel your body to give the workouts your all. At least that's what I believe.

Thanks everyone, the general consensus is for me to up my calories, I will try to add another 200-300 calorie snack everyday and see if that helps. I really appreciate being able to interact with everyone.
