Health Isn't a Seasonal Thing

Here's a though, peeps. Rather than rushing around every Spring trying to get "ready for summer", why don't you establish reasonable and sustainable lifestyle changes that you can stick with 12 months per year rather than crash dieting every Spring. The only summer prep I have to do is figure out where I can get the best spray tan without looking like I have cirrhosis of the liver lol

Ha I share in the same thought. I feel like people only regret how much they ate or WHAT they ate after all the holidays and come march they need to go to the gym and lose those extra pounds they put on in 2 months, but ask them what they do OUTSIDE the gym? Like a friend once told me "it's what you do out of the gym that matters."

Better to have spray tan than skin cancer!

I disagree. I kick it back a notch during the holidays and splurge.

    Just my way of things.

Yeah, so did I since about age 12 but with Dad's basal cell carcinoma and some suspicious marks myself and no medical insurance, it's time for me to grow up and be responsible lol

I splurge occasionally, too. But never so much that I gotta hurry up and lose 20lbs for summer! If you're good 85% of the time and bad 15% of the time, there's no need to hurry up and get ready for summer...

I'm in denial. I keep hoping my Dego half will suddenly come out with some olive skin! lol

This post makes me think of what my husband says every year. He is a slim guy by nature and wears a 31-32 in jeans. In the winter he can't button them and has to go to 32-32. His excuse "I'm like a bear, I have to store fat for the winter hybernation. It all comes of in the spring!"

I love being pale. my BF calls me his Snow White :blushing:

As for the rushing around to get summer ready thing...summer is the time that i have to really delve into fitness. Schools out and I don't have a paper and 3 finals.

HOWEVER, I do agree that getting into something that is manageable all year is the healthiest option.

But, but, then I'd have to use my spring fever to do something like clean the house!
