Exercise after a C-Section

I've lost almost 50 lbs since having my child in February strictly on eating better, I am at the point where I would like to start hitting the gym but I am unsure of how to go about it. I know there are some things you should avoid after a C Section but I really don't want to have to stick to walking. Suggestions?

The best bet is to just stick to walking till your doctor says it's okay to go back to regular workouts. For me this took about 6 weeks, but it could take longer. If you put too much stress on it, you could end up making your recovery time longer.

Take a class!!! I love the classes at my gym, especially Zumba and RIPPED. I have had 3 C-sections and cardio classes is where I started. I get bored running/walking on a treadmill.
    Good Luck!! :flowerforyou:

I saw your weight on your ticker, and I was in a similar situation. Since you're not used to anything but walking right now, you'll have to build up anyways, but go for whatever you like and just make sure you're not getting any weird feelings down there. Abs might take longer, but you'll get there too! If there was anything specific you needed to avoid, your doctor (if any good) would have said so. My son is 13 months also c-section, I've trained for and run a half marathon, done Insanity, lift weights and sometimes swim. My weight has been coming off slowly (just today I got down to 199, yay!), but that has been because I have only recently become consistent and focused on my diet. As far as I know, there's nothing you need to avoid, just ease into it (which is what you would have to do even without a c-section).
  • I've had 3 c-sections and after all but my last one, I was riding bike and doing my normal routine within a week or 2. I regret not doing so after the 3rd one. That's when my real struggle started. I listened to all the people saying to take it easy etc, and I ended up with a major muscle issue from non use.
