Hi, My son is 2 and a half now and since having him I lost a lot of weight, I managed to get down to a bmi of about 19.5 but have since put some weight back on :s (i'm currently 159lbs and 5foot11) Even when I was at my smallest, 9st12lbs through diet and excercise I still had the loose flab on my stomach which hangs when you bend over and looks really weird! this time last year I went on hol an wore a bikini despite this hang as I was around 10st, but now I am a stone and a half heavier and despite buying new bikinis I look too bad to wear one when I go away in four weeks. I just wondered if anyone has managed to make the flab go/look a little better in a month or should I just give up and pack lots of big tshirts? lol. Any help/advice/inspiration would be sooo much appreciated as I am getting very upset/stressed about this :( thanks!

I honestly very much doubt you look "too bad to wear one"! Try not to stress out about it and just enjoy your holiday! People won't judge you for having a little bit of a tummy. It's completely understandable, especially as you've had a child! I'm sure you'll look beautiful whether you loose a bit more weight or not (:

hi there :) i too used to have loose tummy skin and probably flab underneath. i have been strength training regularly at the gym and also doing some but not many ab exercises (irregularly) and now my tummy looks pretty damn good (if i say so myself) i call it my elephant skin

oh and what the poster above me said. be proud of yourself. you are not your tummy. you are a wonderful human being whether or not you like the way your tummy looks in a bikini. just are not worth any less as a person because you dont look like some crazy ideal

There's no magic cure as we age the elastin in the skin greatly reduces making harder for skin to shrink.

Drink plenty of water and do strength/ resistance training to tone up and this should help, it wont happen overnight but the lower your body fat %/ the more lean muscle you have the firmer your skin will be.

    Good luck

:ohwell: I'm still wokring on mine...I think I've left it a bit late as my "baby" is 13 now

You're much younger so it will snap back with diet and exercise. If you're not comfortable get a one-piece or a tankini, or wrap something round the "offending" area like a nice sarong.

For what its worth, I've been down the tankini top/ shorts-bottoms route but my hubs says I look better in a "normal" bikini (bra-top and normal briefs, not the "short" style) as otherwise it draws attention to the tummy area. But then men are happy to wear brief swimmer whatever they look like:tongue:
  • I don't have time to figure out how to upload a picture but I have had great success with Insanity DVDs. My belly used to hang down (2 babies will do that...and I figured I'd never see flat again.) when I did planks and now, my belly area is tight and toned! I was really shocked to see the results. No flab at all. Worth the investment--I have NEVER had toned midsection and I do now at 35!

Same here, I have seen some go away, but I feel its never going to leave. might as well get to know it become friends with it. Just kidding I am also trying to get rid of it for good. I am doing insanity right now, waist is shrinking, I mean its a like a snail, I have to measure myself to see progress.

I understand! I have 3 babies, 2 of which were 10 lbs. Yes I have a tummy! I am still working on losing the fat (but actually not baby fat,I lost all of that pretty quickly, I need to lose my fat Lol) but I don't know if the loose skin will ever go away? I don't like it but I also feel kind of proud. I earned it!! And my babies are TOTALLY worth it!! I'm sorry I don't have any good tips except love the woman you are,a beautiful mommy! I wish you the best!! :flowerforyou:

I will always have stretch marks, I still have a "little bump" but the more I work my abs and work out the tighter my waist line has gotten. I have a little extra skin. My first was 8lba 3.5oz second was 9lbs 2.2 ounces. It took a LOT of work, and after my son I waited nine years so I am sure that helped.
